What it costs, before you have to ask.

Every build is quoted, but nothing here starts from a mystery. Every figure on this page is one multiplication: the average hourly rate a Dutch freelancer in the relevant trade actually charges, times the hours that stage of the build actually takes. The rate is somebody else's published number, the hours are ours, and the total is fixed before anything starts.

The going rate

We did not make the rate up.

A studio's rate is the one number on its website with nothing at all behind it. So this page does not use ours. It uses what a Dutch freelancer in each of the four trades a website needs charged on average this year — surveyed and published by Knab, not by us. Four trades, four averages, and the national figure they are all measured against.

What the price does not cover.

Four of these cost you money and one of them costs us. All five belong on the page rather than in a follow-up email, because a fixed price with an undisclosed edge is not a fixed price.

BTW

Every figure here excludes VAT. Dutch clients add 21%. A VAT-registered business elsewhere in the EU is reverse-charged against a valid VAT number and pays none of it, and outside the EU VAT does not apply. Have this checked against your own position before you budget from it — we invoice from the Netherlands, we are not your tax adviser.

Third-party costs

Domain, hosting, mail and analytics are registered in your name and paid on your card — typically under €30 a month at this size. We do not resell them to you at a markup, and we do not take a commission for choosing them.

Photography and illustration

Every visual on this site is drawn in code, and yours can be too — it is included. If you want a photographer or an illustrator instead, that is their invoice and their rate, not ours.

Scope you add later

The price is fixed against the scope we agreed, not against the project's mood. A section nobody mentioned is a new line at the same rates printed above — quoted before it is built, never after.

Hours we underestimated

Ours. If the build takes longer than the sum on this page, the sum on this page is still what you pay — that is the only thing the word fixed can honestly mean. The hours are low because the system is already built: the token layer, the components and the deploy pipeline are not invoiced to you a second time. What you are buying is the week of work that puts your material through them.

Payment

Half on signing, half at handover. Two invoices, thirty days, no retainer and no lock-in.
